Mrs. Laurie Collins (Headmaster):  

Mrs. Collins earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Rochester and her Master's degree in Education from Nazareth College.  She has NYS certification in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Literacy.  She has taught in public schools, Catholic Schools, and home schooled her daughters.  She has taught fourth grade at St. John Bosco School for six years prior to becoming headmaster.  She is inspired to lead young people to grow in Virtue and seek Truth, Beauty, and Goodness in God's creation.






Mrs. Colleen Reggio (PreK):

Mrs. Reggio earned her Bachelor's Degree from St. John Fisher College.  She has experience in a Montessori school and has been trained in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 1 and 2.  She has been a Bosco mom for 11 years with her two daughters attending here.   Mrs. Reggio teaches the Prekindergarten students "The Fairy Tale Year"



Miss. Ann Donohue (Kindergarten): 

Miss Donohue earned her Bachelor's degree in Literature from Yale and is working on a Master's in Theology from Holy Apostles.  She has completed training in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and the Ward Method of music instruction.  Miss Donohue teaches kindergarten, "The Cradle of Civilization Year."



Mrs. Susan Mattina (1st grade):  

Mrs. Mattina earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the State University College at Buffalo, and she has New York State Teacher Certification. She has earned tenure in two public school districts and has Special Education experience as well. Mrs. Mattina teaches first grade, "The Greek Year."








Mrs. Nancy Jo Bohrer (2nd grade):  

Mrs. Bohrer earned her Bachelor degree from Nazareth College of Rochester and a Masters Degree from Syracuse University.  For over twenty years, she worked with individuals, families, and couples in the field of mental health.  She has classically home schooled her three children for nine years before becoming part of the beautiful St. John Bosco School/Chesterton Academy family.   For the past two  years, Mrs. Bohrer helped with various school needs including cleaning, office support, guidance counseling and substitute teaching at various grade levels.  She is excited to guide second grade in their study of the "Roman Year"!




Mr. Robert Pokalsky (3rd grade): 

Mr. Pokalsky earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville and a Master’s Degree from Excelsior College with New York Teacher Certification. He has been teaching for 25 years. Mr. Pokalsky teaches children in third grade, "The Medieval Year."









Mr. Gianni Zambito (4th grade):

Mr. Zambito earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from SUNY Brockport with New York State Teacher Certification.  He spent his entire teaching career teaching in Catholic schools and is excited about joining St. John Bosco School this year to teach fourth grade, "The Modern Year." 



Mrs. Renee Mills (5th grade):

Mrs. Mills earned her Bachelor's Degree from Buffalo State College. She home schooled her oldest son, through high school, using Seton curriculum. She fell in love with classic literature. She has taught religious education at several grade levels. She has a deep passion for her Catholic Faith. This is her first year as our 5th grade teacher moving up from teaching for several years our 2nd grade classes.   She is very excited to be teaching students in fifth grade, "The American Year."   


Miss Elena Cambio (6th grade): 

Miss Cambio earned a Bachelor’s Degree from St. John Fisher College, a Master of Fine Arts from R.I.T's School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, and a Masters of Arts in Linguistics and Teaching English as a second language from Ohio University.  A native of the south shore of Boston, Miss Cambio's teaching carer taken her to S. Korea and People's Republic of China, as well as other exotic locations such as Glendale, CA.  She has more recently served as Faith Formation Leader and Youth Minister for parishes in the Rochester Diocese.  She is grateful and excited to begin teaching Sixth and Seventh/Eight Grade  literature and Grammar/Writing, as well as 7/8 Religion at St. John Bosco School.



Miss Madeline Wolfs (7th/8th Grade):

Miss Wolfs earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rochester in the Classics and a Master’s Degree from St. John Fisher College.  She has dual New York State Teacher Certification in general education and special education.  Miss Wolfs has worked as a substitute teacher at St. John Bosco School/Chesterton Academy for 5 years.  She teaches middle school science, Latin I and II, and Euclidean geometry. 



Mr. Richard Kunz (Latin):

Mr. Kunz earned both Bachelor’s and Master of Divinity Degrees from St. Bernard’s Seminary, and he has teacher certifications in Latin, Spanish and Drivers’ Ed. He has 25 years of teaching experience plus broad experience in pastoral work and business. Mr. Kunz teaches Latin to all students in grades 1-8, and teaches our hands-on nature studies science program to middle scholars.









Mr. Kurt Griffen (Music, Middle School and High School):

Mr. Kurt Griffen earned a Bachelor's degree from Roberts Wesleyan College, a Master's of Divinity degree from Northeastern Seminary, and a Master's degree from SUNY Brockport.  He began directing the Chesterton Academy Choir in December of 2015.  In 2016-17 he added the 6-8 choirs, plus theology and history classes.  Mr. Griffen converted to the Church on All Saints' Day, 2002, by reading Church history and especially reading G.K. Chesterton.  He has studied in the Holy Land, been to England on a "Chesterton Pilgrimage", and studied opera in Spoleto, Italy twice.  He is married to his first wife (also a convert). They have three children.


Mrs. Susan Jenkins (Art):

Mrs. Jenkins earned her Bachelor's degree in Studio Art from Nazareth College.  She has developed curriculum, provided artistic instruction and college portfolio consultation to students grades K-12 for over 15 years in public, private, and homeschool settings.  Mrs. Jenkins provides Art curriculum and instruction that integrates to the subject matter being taught each year.  Her portfolio can be viewed at



Mrs Kara Reyes (Music)

Mrs Kara Reyes teaches music to Prek through 5th grade students.  More information will be added soon.




Mr. John Marchand (Physical Education):

Mr. Marchand is one of the original 12 founding SJBS families and currently serves as our Athletics Director, Director of Facilities and Assistant to the Headmaster. He teaches Physical Education to all grade levels and coaches the Chesterton Academy High School girls.



Mrs. Sheryl Finucane  (School Nurse):

Sheryl Finucane earned her bachelors degree in Nursing from St. John Fisher College.  Prior to that she worked as an ICU nurse for 12 years.   She has been a St. John Bosco Mom and has two girls attending SJB these past 4 years. 

"I enjoy being a part of and working in such a loving, faith filled community". 



Mrs. Mary Kosinski (Office):

Mrs. Kosinski earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Scranton.  She has taught preschool at SJBS and has been a teacher's aide in PreK the past few years.   Her new role this year will be assistant in the School Office. 

Mrs. Darlene Piersall (Office):

Mrs. Piersall earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo.  She is the current Office and FACTS administrator for St. John Bosco School and Chesterton Academy.   She has worked in the school library for the past 6 years and is currently Office Administrator.
