Mrs. Colleen Reggio:

Mrs. Reggio earned her Bachelor's Degree from St. John Fisher College.  She has experience in a Montessori school and has been trained in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 1 and 2.  She has been a Bosco mom for 11 years with her two daughters attending here.   Mrs. Reggio teaches the Prekindergarten students "The Fairy Tale Year"



Miss. Ann Donohue: 

Miss Donohue earned her Bachelor's degree in Literature from Yale and is working on a Master's in Theology from Holy Apostles.  She has completed training in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and the Ward Method of music instruction.  Miss Donohue teaches kindergarten, "The Cradle of Civilization Year."



Mrs. Susan Mattina:  

Mrs. Mattina earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the State University College at Buffalo, and she has New York State Teacher Certification. She has earned tenure in two public school districts and has Special Education experience as well. Mrs. Mattina teaches first grade, "The Greek Year."







Mrs. Renee Mills:

Mrs. Mills earned her Bachelor's Degree from Buffalo State College. She home schooled her oldest son, through high school, using Seton curriculum. She fell in love with classic literature. She has taught religious education at several grade levels. She has a deep passion for her Catholic Faith. This is her first year as a full time second grade teacher and she is enjoying the challenge.  Mrs. Mills teaches children in second grade, "The Roman Year."



Mr. Robert Pokalsky: 

Mr. Pokalsky earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville and a Master’s Degree from Excelsior College with New York Teacher Certification. He has been teaching for 25 years. Mr. Pokalsky teaches children in third grade, "The Medieval Year."







Mrs. Laurie Collins:

Mrs. Collins earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Rochester and a Master's Degree from Nazareth College, and she has New York State Teacher Certification. She has teaching experience in Special Education, elementary school, and homeschooling.  Mrs. Collins teaches the fourth grade "The Modern Year."



Miss Nicole Steltz:

Miss Steltz holds a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Theology from Thomas Aquinas College. She has a degree from a college that provides a classical education, She is passionate about helping students "love learning for its own sake." Her favorite subjects are American History and Literature, and she is very excited to be teaching students in fifth grade, "The American Year."   



Mrs. Sandy Giannavola:

Mrs. Giannavola earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from SUNY Brockport. She has taught Math at SUNY Brockport and at the high school level. Mrs. Giannavola teaches grade level and advanced level math courses to our middle scholars.  









Miss Madeline Wolfs:

Miss Wolfs earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rochester in the Classics and a Master’s Degree from St. John Fisher College.  She has dual New York State Teacher Certification in general education and special education.  Miss Wolfs has worked as a substitute teacher at St. John Bosco School/Chesterton Academy for 5 years.  She teaches middle school science, Latin I and II, and Euclidean geometry. 



Mr. Richard Kunz:

Mr. Kunz earned both Bachelor’s and Master of Divinity Degrees from St. Bernard’s Seminary, and he has teacher certifications in Latin, Spanish and Drivers’ Ed. He has 25 years of teaching experience plus broad experience in pastoral work and business. Mr. Kunz teaches Latin to all students in grades 1-8, and teaches our hands-on nature studies science program to middle scholars.









Mr. Lee Strong:

Mr. Lee Strong, OFS, earned a Bachelor's degree from St. John Fisher College and a Master's degree from the University of Rochester.  He holds permanent certifications from New York State in English and Social Studies, and has taught for 22 years, including 11 years at Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women.



Mr. Kurt Griffen:

Mr. Kurt Griffen earned a Bachelor's degree from Roberts Wesleyan College, a Master's of Divinity degree from Northeastern Seminary, and a Master's degree from SUNY Brockport.  He began directing the Chesterton Academy Choir in December of 2015.  In 2016-17 he added the 6-8 choirs, plus theology and history classes.  Mr. Griffen converted to the Church on All Saints' Day, 2002, by reading Church history and especially reading G.K. Chesterton.  He has studied in the Holy Land, been to England on a "Chesterton Pilgrimage", and studied opera in Spoleto, Italy twice.  He is married to his first wife (also a convert). They have three children.


Mrs. Susan Jenkins:

Mrs. Jenkins earned her Bachelor's degree in Studio Art from Nazareth College.  She has developed curriculum, provided artistic instruction and college portfolio consultation to students grades K-12 for over 15 years in public, private, and homeschool settings.  Mrs. Jenkins provides Art curriculum and instruction that integrates to the subject matter being taught each year.  Her portfolio can be viewed at



Mr. John Marchand:

Mr. Marchand is one of the original 12 founding SJBS families and currently serves as our Athletics Director, Director of Facilities and Assistant to the Headmaster. He teaches Physical Education to all grade levels and coaches the Chesterton Academy High School girls.



Mrs. Mary Kosinski:

Mrs. Kosinski earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Scranton.  She has taught preschool at SJBS and currently helps as a teacher's aide in PreK.
