Sr. Mary Florence Sullivan Scholarship Fund

St. John Bosco School announces the establishment of a scholarship honoring the memory of Sister Mary Florence Sullivan, Sister of Mercy.

Sr. Florence was born in Rochester in 1896. She entered the Sisters of Mercy soon after graduating from Nazareth Academy. Sr. Florence was one of the four founding Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy High School in 1928. In her over 50 years as an educator, Sr. Florence taught at every grade level, served as Principal of Our Lady of Mercy, began many activities and projects to bring out the best in her students, and also earned two college degrees of her own.

St. John Bosco School is grateful and excited to receive this scholarship gift. The first scholarship was designated for a family residing in East Rochester, site of our new school building, recently purchased from St. Jerome Church.
