You are here:  Support SJBS
Wednesday, January 07, 2009

Thank you to the many of you that have expressed interest in supporting the mission of St. John Bosco Schools.  There are several forms of support that would be a tremendous help to the SJBS family.

1. Prayer

To paraphrase a great saint, there is an order of priority to the support for God's work: first prayer, second sacrifice, and third action.  At St. John Bosco Schools we ask first and foremost for the prayers of all those who wish to support our mission.

2. Financial Support ~ General

One of our primary objectives for the St. John Bosco Schools initiative is to make education accessible for all families that recognize the importance of a sound Catholic formation and excellent academic curriculum for their children.  Thus, we have set tuition at $1,500 per student, far below our costs per student.  Our hope is to make up the difference through donations from other members of the community who share our commitment to Catholic education.

The Catholic Education Foundation has set-up a scholarship fund for the students and families of St. John Bosco Schools.  We encourage anyone who would like to support St. John Bosco Schools to send their donations to the following address:

St. John Bosco Schools Special Fund

c/o Catholic Education Foundation

500 Linden Oaks Drive

Rochester, New York 14625

(585) 899-1245

3. Financial Support ~ the Founder's Club

For those supporters who desire to make an extended commitment to the support of St. John Bosco Schools, our Founder's Club members commit for $5,000 over 5 years.  Anyone interested in joining the Founder's Club is encouraged to contact the Chairman of our Board of Governors, A. Joseph Indelicato, directly at (585) 899-1245.

4. Material Support

In addition to financial needs, St. John Bosco Schools also has countless material needs, from things as simple as basic office supplies to complex computer systems.  Anyone interested in supporting St. John Bosco Schools by way of material support is encouraged to contact the school directly at admin@johnboscoschools.org.

* St. John Bosco Schools is an independent school.  We are not affiliated with the Diocese of Rochester, we do not receive any financial support from the Diocese of Rochester or any of its institutions or parishes, nor do we claim the title of "Catholic School" in accordance with c.803.3.  We respect the jurisdiction of the local Bishop in matters relevant to instruction in the doctrines and beliefs of the Catholic Faith.

St. John Bosco Schools is a member of the National Association of Private Catholic* Independent Schools (NAPC*IS).  The word Catholic appears in the name of the NAPC*IS organization only to reflect the fact that some member schools have received the consent of the competent ecclesiastical authority in their diocese to bear the title Catholic School in accordance with c.803.3. NAPC*IS claims no authority to determine if a member school may bear this title, nor does membership in NAPC*IS permit a school to call itself Catholic.
